After a chaotic battle at MLG Columbus 2016 mousesports defeated FlipSid3 31-28 on de_cbble as the CIS team made their exit and the German side advanced to the decider match.

The game began with FlipSid3 getting out to a three-round lead after winning the pistol round with a sneaky play from Yegor "⁠markeloff⁠" Markelov and following it up with both eco-rounds. The first gun round then went mousesports' way as markeloff ran out of time to defuse the bomb after winning a 1vs3 situation, but FlipSid3 rallied back right after with a great hold on the B site, where Oleksandr "⁠Shara⁠" Hordieyev was simply unstoppable.

The scorelined bloomed to a 7-1 advantage to FlipSid3 before mousesports finally called a tactical pause in a bid to adjust their offense. It would take them some time to get back on their feet, however, as FlipSid3 brought the scoreline to 11-1, but then mousesports picked themselves up and finally strung two rounds together before the Ukrainians claimed the final round of the half with another key triple kill from Shara.

In the second half, Nikola "⁠NiKo⁠" Kovač won a 1vs1 clutch in the pistol round to save mousesports and keep them in the game. After a great eco round that gave mouz a scare, FlipSid3 went for a third-round buy that proved to be successful, but they were unable to build on that win as the Germans hit back on a force buy.

NiKo powered mousesports to overtun a 3-12 deficit

mousesports added the next three rounds to their tally to close the gap to 9-13, a run that would come to a close in a great round from FlipSid3 in which Andrey "⁠B1ad3⁠" Gorodenskiy got three kills to his name. With this win, FlipSid3 piled a huge amount of pressure on mousesports, but the German team showed great fighting spirit and went on a run that saw them equalise the score at 14-14.

FlipSid3 came close to bringing mousesports' streak to an end with an A push but spurned a 4vs2 advantage, with Chris "⁠chrisJ⁠" de Jong pulling off a massive clutch with the AWP. The Ukrainians were not willing to go down without a fight, however, and rescued the final round to force overtime.

The overtime began well for mousesports as they got the 2-1 advantage in the first half but FlipSid3 woke up and answered to take it to the second overtime. After losing the first two rounds of the second overtime, mousesports got three in a row and had a chance to close it out but could not capitalize on a 5v2 advantage created by NiKo's triple-kill, meaning the game went to the third overtime.

markeloff exploded with a 50-bomb 

Back and forth tempo continued on the second round of the third overtime as the CT-sided mousesports lost a 5v3 advantage, giving up four kills unanswered, but chrisJ clutched a 1v3 (22-22). FlipSid3 got the last round and finished the overtime half 23-22 ahead but mousesports once again reached to the match point. FlipSid3 didn't let it go which meant one more overtime as the score was tied at 24-24.

Two entry frags by Denis "⁠denis⁠" Howell forced FlipSid3 to save, giving the first round to the German side. The second round developed nicely for them as well but mouz players forgot to check the chicken coup on the B-site and Shara killed the bomb-planter as mousesports ran out of time and F3 went on to win the subsequent round, closing the half 26-25.

mousesports once again gained the match point and NiKo was in a 1v1 against Shara but the Ukranian player got the kill, sending it to the fifth overtime. chrisJ's 1v1 victory got the half win of the fifth overtime for mousesports as the German team led 29-28. NiKo's 1v2 clutch gained his team two more match poitns and the Germans won it 31-28.
